Navlika Varma Foundation

Building the skills
for lifelong wellbeing.

A South African non-profit organisation building practical mental wellbeing capability in schools, workplaces and communities — so that resilience, connection and clarity are learned early and carried for life.

The need

Most support arrives at the point of crisis.

South Africa carries a heavy mental health burden and a thin layer of accessible, preventative support. Most people never encounter the skills that would help them communicate, relate, regulate stress and navigate change — until something has already broken.

The gap is not only clinical. It is educational. These are learnable capabilities, and they are almost never taught to the people who need them most.

We exist to create the conditions for clarity, connection and growth.

A community together in an open landscape

Impact

Change that can be seen, measured and carried forward.

Access, learning, capability, behavioural change, flourishing. Every programme is designed with its measures in place from the outset — and we publish only what we can verify.

Why the Foundation

Psychology-led

Founded and led by a psychologist with national workplace mental health leadership experience.

Preventative, not reactive

We build capability upstream of crisis, where the long-term return is greatest.

Capability, not awareness

Participants leave with skills they can practise, not slogans they can recite.

Measured honestly

A defined impact framework, and only verified figures published.
